I'm Ingrid, a lively 50-year-old woman.
Enjoying life, going to work, travelling far away with the family, playing sports, being together with family/friends, that's what has always made me happy.
Spinal cord injury
I woke up after a back operation to remove a tumour and a bleed and had no feeling in my lower abdomen or legs.
Because of fluid accumulation there was still hope for recovery in the first few weeks. However, soon after that I was told that I had a complete spinal cord injury.
To avoid leaving my dear husband and two beautiful daughters in the lurch, I got up every day and tried to look ahead. In the meantime, almost two years later, I can do so much more from my wheelchair.
Freedom
It's also during my stay in the rehabilitation centre that I got to know So Yes.
Sofie and Jessie had come to present their company and products to the nurses shortly before my stay.
Because I want to catheterise myself from the wheelchair, I first bought the Zoë sitting trousers with catheterisation kits. These pants fit perfectly and because of the long zipper I can easily dress and undress and catheterise myself wherever I am. Then I also tried out the ROMY skirt. It's very comfortable, very practical because of the zipper and it also looks elegant.
I'm so grateful to Sofie and Jessie. They gave me extra independence and a lot of freedom. The trousers are so comfortable, are made of fashionable fabrics and colours and are so easy to use. I really can't miss them.
In the meantime we're going back to dinner with family and friends, shopping, visiting museums,....
One of our passions was to travel far away. Through a specialised travel agency, we've been on holiday again by plane.
It does indeed require a little more planning, but in fact we still manage a lot.
We try to enjoy all the little moments. That's what makes us happy.
Regards,
Ingrid
